Lorne Forsyth became Chairman of Elliott & Thompson at the beginning of 2009. He relaunched the company with the first publications being published in autumn that year.
Lorne Forsyth started his career in the retail sector. He went on to get an MBA at INSEAD. He then joined Schroders corporate finance in 1985 before moving on to Morgan Grenfell where he developed expertise in the automotive and engineering industries, becoming head of the automotive sector practice. Lorne Forsyth then joined the investment banking division of HSBC as global head of the automotive and engineering sectors.
At Elliott & Thompson, Lorne Forsyth is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. He works closely with its editorial team in determining and refining its editorial policy (primarily “smart narrative non-fiction”). He is also highly involved in developing authors’ writing careers. He is responsible for Elliot & Thompson's worldwide sales and distribution arrangements.
Lorne Forsyth is involved with selected charities, is an investor in start-up companies and mentors up and coming entrepreneurs using his City experience.
