Kris Wiluan is an award winning Indonesian businessman and entrepreneur. He is the Chairman of Citramas Group, a holding company in Batam, Indonesia with 35 subsidiaries and over 3,000 employees. He is patron of Citramas Foundation. Kris Wiluan serves as Executive Chairman of PT Citra Bonang based in Indonesia that manufactures industrial chemicals and food ingredients in Sumatra and Java. Currently, it has over 2,000 employees in 12 subsidiaries and over 50 branches throughout Indonesia. Mr Kris Wiluan is the Chairman and CEO of KS Energy, a public listed company in the Oil & Gas service sector, having operations and offices in 16 countries worldwide, covering the Middle East, Africa, Europe, China, South East Asia and America with a total of 1,000 employees. He is the Chairman, Board of Governor, Del Institute of Technology in Indonesia and an Advisor to the Indonesian Industry Association (APINDO).
Mr Kris Wiluan was born in Jakarta on 5 November 1948. He graduated with a BSc Honors degree in Mathematics with Computer Science from London University in 1971. In 2007, Mr. Kris Wiluan was awarded “CEO of the Year” by Bisinis Indonesia and in the following year he was named “The Best CEO 2008” by the SWA magazine. In 2009, Mr. Kris Wiluan was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award.
Mr Kris Wiluan’s latest project is the development of Nongsa Digital Park in Indonesia. The $700 million technology park is the realisation of a commitment by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to develop Batam as a digital bridge between Singapore and Indonesia. It will have an international data centre, an incubator for start-ups and apartments for technoprenuers and programmers. Nongsa Park is only a 40 minute ferry ride away from Singapore. The 100ha Nongsa Digital Park, slightly bigger than the Singapore Botanic Gardens, will be Bantam’s first large-scale private project. It is the latest project by Infinite Studios, a Singapore-based integrated media entertainment and creative services company which has produced movies and animated TV series at its Nongsa facility, including HBO Asia's Serangoon Road and The Garfield Show. Infinite Studios' Nongsa facility will be part of the new park. The park, a subsidiary of Citramas Group, is also a strategic partner of the e27, a regional platform established for the media, community, event, talent and start-up ecosystem.
Mr Kris Wiluan is active in sports and his hobbies include martial arts, golf, sailing and scuba diving. He is President of ASEAN Taekwondo Association, and Patron of Riau Porlasi (Indonesian Sailing Association). He was awarded the Adimanggalya Krida Medal in 1997 from the Indonesian Government. Kris Wiluan received the Satyalancana Medal from the president of Indonesia in 2019.
